Suggestion: Break chapter 8 into two chapters

I enjoyed the length & pacing of ch 1-7. I felt like I could mostly complete them in one sitting. I am currently in ch 8 and I think it is too long and conceptually dense--I suggest breaking it into two chapters.

That's a good idea. 8 is definitely the huge hurdle of the book and learning FP
