All of this is preliminary work before the real work begins:

  • Bumped to 2.0.0
  • Removed SCO/AIX/Solaris
  • Removed autotools/makefiles
  • Converted tabs to spaces
  • Change compiler option to use C23 standard

Please scrutinize as closely as you can. (I have double-checked the changes and I don't believe I missed anything or changed any logic, but still.) It builds cleanly for me on macOS.
