M1 Apple version request
Could we have an arm mac version for the M1 please.
They have one for xmrig, but would be great to have an MO rig version.
thank you
Just FYI, it works if you build from source. Just don't forget to switch the repository in the instructions to the MO one vs. the default XMRig one.
No disagreement that a precompiled M1 binary would be nice.
hmm, i will give it a bash :-)
+1 for a precompiled binary!
Is a precompiled M1 binary incoming?
Depends on if Github Actions support Apple M1 compilation. If not, complain to them, or it won't happen (Github Actions build the releases).
This seems directly related (and the answer is, no they don't)
Not worh for now. I't works same considering hashrate, but M1 version ignore "max-threads-hint":, always on 100% no metter what value you put .... Rosetta version works with 6 cores when affinity set is 80%. Also noted that M1 99% time mine using "cn-heavy" profile, sometimes switches to "panthera", no metter which version I use (native or ower rosetta).
well, 5 months passed ... xmrig have native M1 version since 6.7.0 ... so it would be nice to have MoneroOcean native M1 binary. I know how to compile it, but it would be nice to have it directly.....
Previously linked thread had updates, one week ago, still no progress. They claim a preview of the ability will be available in 2022.
Main xmrig uses some other build method, not GitHub Actions. They must happen to have access to an M1 online all the time in order to compile their binary, and external build-scripting to handle it all.
