[1.4] [Mod Compat] The Stars Above bug

Open Samarai opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

When using Terraria Overhaul and The Stars Above together, a strange but harmless compatibility issue can be observed. When equipping the "Cyclic Hunter" ability from TSA's Stellar Array system (provides buffs from consuming ranged weapon ammo, unlocked by defeating the King Slime), taking damage will cause the player to gain Overhaul's "Dripping Water" debuff, which I'm assuming isn't intended to appear at all given it isn't given upon entering/exiting water.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have both Terraria Overhaul and The Stars Above installed and enabled
  2. After unlocking it, equip the Cyclic Hunter ability in the Stellar Array
  3. Take damage from a monster

I don't think 5.0 currently has Wet debuff applying from water-ish projectiles. In fact, there's only one Player.AddBuff call, and it's for the mana chanelling visual buff.

+Can you record a video?

Here's a video demonstrating the bug; upon taking damage at first, nothing out of the ordinary happens, but upon adding the "Cylic Hunter" perk, getting hit causes me to gain the wet debuff. There's no other situation where this debuff is applied right now, so I don't think it has anything to do with projectiles intentionally applying that debuff like they used to.

And because it could influence it, I've tested this with everything else in the Stellar Array disabled, it's just Cyclic Hunter that causes this, for some reason, which makes it even more confusing since there are perks in the array that apply buffs on taking damage (that bubble you see in the video is one of them), but CH's effects only apply when consuming ammunition.
