[FEAT]: More better way to manage files/links

Open mortenfj opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

What would you like to see?

The dialog box for handling files and links is often too small, like a github page will just say "giithub_co...md.html" same with youtube links and long filenames, and then you have to "on mouse" hover to see full filename. A larger dialog and maybe a way to label files like "ollama" for ollama related documentation, or what ever tags the user requires. Love the project!

This may help alleviate the pain of doc management when closed https://github.com/Mintplex-Labs/anything-llm/issues/554

I would also like to see this improved. I mouse hover over the popup and it gives me a name of a folder but I don't know where that folder is located. I am running AnythingLLM as an AppImage on Ubuntu 22.04.

@ben7sys Open the storage folder and it will be in storage/documents. Depending on how you are using AnythingLLM this folder can be in various places. You can find the location on this page of docs

Due to the file name being too long, I am unable to click to delete the document

Hello, I tried to create a new folder in anythingllm/documents/. The frontend webpage can see this newly created folder. However, when I uploaded some PDF, CSV, and TXT files into this folder, these files are completely invisible on the frontend. Why is that?Additionally, the file uploads were directly copied onto the backend of the Linux machine.
