There is a workaround for this, see [my comment in another issue](https://github.com/newsboat/newsboat/issues/482#issuecomment-483373182).

Hi, sorry for the late reply! Perhaps LTO is the issue? Could you try compiling without `-flto=auto`? Some people reported LTO build success on IRC, but I never tried it...
