I have the same thing. When you launch the messenger app, it displays a window at the top asking for an update. From now on, instead of a window, the app redirects you to the help page or the play store to download the newer version and blocks the use of the one required for messenger pro. Maybe some messenger pro update to make it work with the new version or hide the update window? Currently, after the first launch of the app, everything works ok, after each subsequent one there is a big update button and no possibility to use the application. Force shutdown works until the next run. Then it's ok, but the second time you turn on the app is again the update me.
