Safety improvement upon Wizard/Calculator usage with active TT

Short form: default-check TT-Checkbox in wizard, when an active TT is running (at least with an higher-than-regular-target TT)

A while back, we had addressed some usecases which lead to have COB, Bolus- and Basal-IOB connected in some way within the bolus calculator. Mostly to eliminate a possibility of false-dosing. For a long time I am thinking about another case, where I ended up overdosing (at least with noticing everytime) several time in a scenario, which I'd consider rather common than edge-case:

Scenario: Have an higher-than-target TT active, because you are doing sports, activity, whatever... want to eat something after that and bolus via wizard. The default setting ignores your active TT and tries to balance you to your regular target, which may not be, what you expect in that situation (at least I am rather careful with insulin after sports). I'd welcome a default behaviour, where an active TT gets included into wizard-calculation and needs to be manually dialed off if other calcilations are really wanted.

In the screenshot you see, that with an active TT but default-unchecked checkbox aaps would try to kick me down to 110. Giving me more insulin after/during an acitivity period, than my brain would expect it to deliver. The higher TT vs. regular Target difference is, the higher this effect will get. Riding a 180 target for example would result in more insulin delivery than intended.

Yes, a careful user should always check all aspects of dosing, but having the TT-checkbox default-checked when an active TT is running would only have positive impact on safety.

(Maybe this topic already has been discussed, pls hint me towards it then - found #1615 from March 2019 so far) Screenshot_AndroidAPS_20200216-045429

you may like it this way but others may not. from my point view: if you calculate correction to common target and TT, the difference in insulin is the almost negligible to the total calculation especially if you enter carbs. th correct approach for activity if to set profile <100% which should cover changes in insulin needs

My basic thought is: "If I actively have set a certain target - what would I straight forward expect a 'wizard' to use as calculation base for my dosing?"

I just have my very limited n=1 view, so I'd gladly see other users and devs have a short thought on this too. Chances are high that I might simply don't use it appropriatly or it's just an edge-case other people won't encounter.

One of the situations where I just quickly set my target a bit higher, are bike rides to work, which is some sort of activity 15-30min ... the slightly higher target allows me to have a buffer, so I won't drop below critical values. I'll see if I can manage to achieve that with your mentioned combination of a profile-switch (which would be the cleaner solution, I get you there).

We already have a setting for TT to include it or not in wizard sent from Wear Watch (this setting is in Wear plugin)…

As everyone can have a different way of managing activities, I suggest adding a new setting for default "value" of TT in wizard (checked or not). That way every one could have default setting according to their needs… => And the right place for this new setting could be in Préférences > Buttons...
