Problem with inconsistent tab spacing

I have a problem where the same note with carefully aligned columns using tabs in a monospace font looks different on 2 different PCs using the same editor settings.

I cannot get the columns showing as aligned on both PCs.

I have tried different monospaced fonts and different point sizes.

Hmm so I can kinda reproduce that. Your file looks properly aligned in Notepad++ but when I open it in AlephNote its not aligned correctly.

I'm a little bit lost what could cause this, personally I use spaces for indentation in my notes :)

I know you already wrote that, but can you double-check that you are really using the same settings on both computers, even the same font and font-size?

Both computers are using the same settings file which I keep in Dropbox.

I don't know why it should make a difference, but one computer is a laptop with a 1366 x 768 laptop screen and the other a 4K (3840 x 2160) screen.
