Password reveal CSS not working

I have tried to remove the eye icon from the password input box by using the following css

::-ms-reveal {
    display: none;
}

and it seems to be not working as expected. As I start typing, the eye icon still pops up and overlaps our custom eye icon. I am currently running Version 107.0.1418.56 (Official build) (64-bit).

I have attached a sample output which depicts the issue.
