It would be useful to be able to to query if the user selected yes or no, particularly if we later add additional features that could make it more attractive for the user to have selected yes (or if they don't have the behavior and are submitting feedback saying that it isn't working - we could attach whether or not it was enabled to metadata).

We don't have a clear idea yet how we'll plug into permissions model for this feature. But your suggestion could be part of the permissions model that queries the user's choice.
