DevTools use 8GiB memory with RAM cap on discord.com

How

I just forgot to close the tools. Then facing OOM while using discord.com. Might "log scam" on discord.com cause this.

Expect

Control how much RAM Edge can use (Set to 4GB). In edge://settings/system/managePerformance. Should also limit much RAM Edge DevTools can use.

Windows 11 26100.4652 Edge 138.0.3351.121 (Official build) (64-bit) RAM 32GB (>6GB Available) CPU 13600K GPU 5070

Thanks for reporting this. Can you please provide repro steps for the team to investigate? Also, what are you using to measure the memory? Is it the browser task manager? Can you provide screenshots of the memory report?

  1. Open Browser
  2. Visiting Discord.com
  3. Open DevTools
  4. Visiting Discord.com
  5. Just typing, switch channel in Tab Discord.com...
  6. Switch tabs in Edge Browser
  7. Switch to Discord.com
  8. Look at Browser Task Manager, Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer.
