"Link" vs "Link to a Document"
Article suggestion
I'd like to submit thoughts around use of "Link" vs "Link to a Document" as form of redirect in SharePoint Online. I think this might be best categorized under the "Making Better Decisions" section of the content, similar to other articles around choosing between two things. For example:
Team Site vs Communication Site: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/community/team-site-or-communication-site List Columns vs Site Columns: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/community/list-column-or-site-column-which-one-to-choose Power Automate vs Logic Apps: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/community/power-automate-vs-logic-apps
@brianpmccullough - That sounds really useful. Could you just check and make sure that Microsoft doesn't already have content covering this? (I expect you don't think they do, or you wouldn't have suggested it!) If they do have anything, please include it in a References section in what you write up. I expect your thoughts are more "real world".
@sympmarc. I've referenced the sparse Microsoft content on these topics (at least what I could find easily) from relevant sections. They don't cover some of the "real world" scenarios. https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/microsoft-365-community/pull/1091
