Clarify affected app types and LOB installer types in note regarding LOB and Win32 app usage

The note I refer to states:

It's preferable to deploy the offline-licensed Microsoft Store for Business apps. Don't mix LOB and Win32 apps. Both LOB (MSI) and Win32 installers use TrustedInstaller, which doesn't allow simultaneous installations. If the OMA DM agent starts an MSI installation, the Intune Management Extension plugin starts a Win32 app installation by using the same TrustedInstaller. In this situation, Win32 app installation fails and returns an Another installation is in progress, please try again later error message. In this situation, ESP fails. Therefore, don't mix LOB and Win32 apps in any type of Autopilot enrollment.

LOB installer types

It is not clear whether this note is also applicable for other installer types which can be used as a LOB app: image

--> What about LOB apps that do not use MSI files but .appx, .appxbundle, .msix or .msixbundle files?

Microsoft 365 Apps and Edge

The note does not speak about the Microsoft 365 Apps (uses MSI installer in the background and leads to crashes with Win32 apps deployed simultaneously) or Edge (not sure whether it actually uses MSI installer but seems very reasonable..): image

--> Office installation reproducibly leads to install failures. Please also include it in the note as well as Edge, if this is applicable for Edge as well.

Thanks for clarification!

I've seen that the note has been deleted completely in this commit. When can we expect a clarifying statement on this technical situation? Thx in advance.

Hi @OneUser1, thanks for reaching out again to follow up. I added the note back in because it was accidentally removed. I'm still trying to verify and update that app section with someone from our product team. As soon as I hear back, I'll incorporate your changes in the doc. FYI @yogkumgit
