Azure Front Door - Remaing Rules
Hi,
Regarding this item:
- To stop evaluating remaining rules if a specific rule is met, check Stop evaluating remaining rule. If this option is checked and all remaining rules in the Rule Set will not be executed regardless if the matching conditions were met.
-
Primary question: Are remaining Rule Sets associated with the route executed or not?
-
Grammar mistake: "and" should be "then", ("and all remaining rules" should be "then all remaining rules").
-
Wording suggestion: "the" should be "their", ("if the matching conditions were met" should be "if their matching conditions were met").
Thanks.

@krispenner Thanks for your feedback! We will investigate and update as appropriate.
Hi @krispenner,
The remaining rules in a single rule set will not be evaluated once you check Stop evaluating remaining rule. If there are other rule sets, they will be evaluated.
I have made the changes in the docs to change "and" to "then". They should reflect shortly.
@KapilAnanth-MSFT From my recent testing, this does not seem to be the case.
Rule Set A
- Stop Evaluating Remaining Rules
Rule Set B
- Redirect to www.google.com
Route X Rule Sets
- Rule Set A
- Rule Set B
Route X is never redirected to www.google.com.
Hi @krispenner, Thanks for the update. I shall check this behaviour and report back here.
Hi @krispenner ,
I just got an update from our Product Team that, "Stop evaluating remaining rules will apply to all rulesets associated with the route".
Apologies for the earlier comments. I shall work with them and see if I can get the documents updated accordingly
Hi @krispenner ,
I shall close this thread for now. Please feel free to reopen should you have any follow-up questions
@KapilAnanth-MSFT but the document has not been updated yet and still reads an inaccurate description. I think it’s best to keep this open until it is resolved.
Hi @krispenner, sure. I have assigned this thread to the author.
@duongau , I have looped you in the internal communications. Please review this and update the docs as required
