What about VM image offer?

Open vdias opened this issue 11 months ago • 1 comments

Does this procedure change the VM image offer? Or does Azure still sees the server as using a old image offer?

Operating system will be updated, but Azure will detect the change? What image offer will apply to the server? Will it be supported by Azure Udpate Manager?

Example: I have a server with:

  • Operating system: Windows (Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter)
  • Image publisher: MicrosoftWindowsServer
  • Image offer: WindowsServer-HUB
  • Image plan: 2012-R2-Datacenter-HUB

This image is not supported by Azure Update Manager right now... my objective is to upgrade server to 2022, services deployed are compatible... can i use this in-place migration? Will the virtual machine be supported by update manager? What image will azure apply to the VM?
