Directions for install location for client agent contradict Best Practices guide
The Best Practices guidelines state:
Install the client agent on a computer that isn't the SQL Server computer
This guide states:
Download the data sync agent from the link provided and install it on the computer where the SQL Server is located
These two statements directly contradict each other.

Thanks again @jbogard for contacting Microsoft to point out this contradiction. Nice catch! A doc fix is in flight. In short, you should install the client agent on a machine that is different than where SQL Server is installed.
