Automatic classification needs clarification
In the document at "Apply Classifications" (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/purview/apply-classifications#apply-classifications) the docs mention you can manually classify resource sets but there is no mention if they can be automatically classified. Please clarify this.

Thanks for your feedback! We will investigate and update as appropriate.
@RamanathanChinnappan-MSFT Thank you. One additional issue with this same page, at heading "Impact of rescanning on existing classifications" (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/purview/apply-classifications#impact-of-rescanning-on-existing-classifications)
It states that "At the time of rescan, if new classifications apply, the column gets additional classifications on it. Existing classifications stay on the column, and must be removed manually."
This explanation leaves the following questions:
- Does a new classification get applied on Full rescans only or also on incremental scans?
- Will an edited classification that now matches get applied at the re-scan?
Thanks!
Hello @KyferEz - In answer to your questions:
- On both full or incremental.
- What do you mean by an edited classification? But in general, yes. If a classification your scan is checking for is matched during the scan process, it will be applied.
As to your original comment: I am working on refactoring this document include automatic scanning. I expect to have that completed/released by the end of the month.
Yes-- resource sets can be automatically classified during scanning.
Hi @whhender Thank you for your response.
