can't find the AzureStaticWebApp@0 task in a classic pipeline / release?

i would like to use the release interface in devops to publish an artifact to an azure static web app.

the documentation indicates the task is available in YAML, Classic build, Classic release yet it can't be found either in classic build or classic release.

what am i missing?
