Event log viewer should remember filters and sorting

Open aev-mambro2 opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Every time we open the event log viewer on a server, the filters and sorting have reset. It takes time to set those again. Help us be more productive by automatically remembering the last known filters and sorting.

It would be stunning if those could be applied to all event logs, and also have the ability to save filters and sorting independently and separately.

Hello! My name is Rebecca, a PM on the WAC team. I've taken your feedback as part of our enhancements for the events viewer tool. From your experience, what other aspects of the tool do you feel could be refined?

Hi Rebecca! Thank you for reaching out.

A feature I greatly appreciate from the standard event viewer and miss in the events tool in the Windows Admin Center, is the ability to save filter settings into custom logs.

Just commenting to add a +1 to this

In my case, I have 300+ shared server connections configured. I've added 100 additional servers and marked them with a 'new' tag and i'm going through each one to ensure that I can connect to them in the console. Every time i connect to one and return to the list I have to re-enter the 'new' filter to get back to my list of new systems
