sending alerts through e-mail when the system is down

Hi Mick, is it possible to send alerts through e-mail on a Raspberry Pi4 setup when the Sungrow inverter is not producing or has a fault code, e.g. using a python script in the cron table? (I'm new Raspberry so I don't know what it supports or what the light Linux version for HA can or can't do). Thanks for making this great tool available!
