Trying to Add Server
Hi there,
Apologies for my ignorance. I'm really struggling to add a server. It wants it in the format: http(s)://IP:PORT
I have a Qbittorrent Seedbox with seedboxes.cc.
The FTP address is: xxx.xxx.xx.xx Port: 9979
The SFTP address is: xxx.xxx.xx.xx Port: 2222
I have tried adding:
http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:9979 https://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:9979 http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:2222 https://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:2222
Each time I get an error saying "Invalid server information. Can't connect to server".
I should add that I don't ever get a Local network permission pop up to allow local connections.
I am using ios 18.7.2 with qBitControl 1.3.3
What am I doing wrong? Many thanks!
Hi, using the FTP or SFTP ports won't work in this case. The app needs to connect directly to the qBittorrent "Web Interface" (WebUI), which runs on a different port entirely.
To find the correct address:
- Log in to your dashboard at seedboxes.cc.
- Find the section for your active seedbox services.
- Look for a button or link that says "qBittorrent" (this is the button you usually click to view your downloads in a web browser).
- Right-click that button and copy the link (or click it, and look at the address bar in your browser).
It will look something like this: https://username.seedbox.cc:443 or http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx:8080.
Hi there,
Many thanks for such a helpful reply! That all makes sense.
I logged into my dashboard, and clicked the qBittorrent link which takes me to:
https://myusername-qbittorrent.cloud.seedboxes.cc
But I can't find the port information anywhere and have tried 443, 8080, 80.
I've emailed seedboxes.cc to ask.

Hi Michael,
I've got the details from Seedboxes.cc - its https://myusername-qbittorrent.cloud.seedboxes.cc:443
This works in browsers, but in QBitControl I still get "Invalid server information. Can't connect to server".
Anything else I can try? Many thanks
Sorry for the late response!
It's hard to say exactly what is blocking the connection without logs, but it is most likely an invalid or self-signed SSL certificate on the server.
I don't use Seedboxes.cc myself, so I can't replicate the setup, but I have a quick question: When you access that link in a browser, are you asked for any additional login details (like a popup window) before you see the standard qBittorrent interface?
@Michael-128 Honestly no problem at all, I’m really grateful for your help.
I didn’t mention it but when they said the port is 443, they also said it’s “with SSL enabled”. I’m not sure if that helps.
But to answer your question - yes. When I access via the web, there is a portal style login page with the QBittorrent logo where I have to enter the username and password. This isn’t a popup as such (which I’ve seen previously with a rutorrent web login) - it’s a web page login.
Thanks again for your help!
