Conflict of template level subscriptions and ground:db

Tested Sacha's article "Meteor Pattern: Template-Level Subscriptions" (see https://www.discovermeteor.com/blog/template-level-subscriptions/) and the linked repo: http://meteorpad.com/pad/6t8wLBiGYmg7cee5t/Template-Level%20Subs%20v2. Figured when you add ground:db to the project, it causes infinite subscribe/publish loops. This is caused by ground:db - just added to the project, without using it, i.e. without grounding any collection.

I noticed the same issue. I am using the same pattern for my "load more content" button.

But when I add ground:db without grounding any collections it breaks the load more, and it always shows the loading animation.
