[MetaOS] - Ticker line
No, not what we have right now - which is just Seed price in the top right corner. A moving line of text on the bottom of the screen, much like during the news broadcast on TV.
Displaying data such as:
- Asset prices & other stats
- Breaking news
- In-game tips
- Calls to action
- Whatever players of MetaGame want it to display (paid with Seeds)
In our case it should be displaying the price of Seeds & the most recent call to action. Eventually, people will be able to stake Seeds to announce things or pay to promote.
Let's focus this down a bit to the minimum amount of data such that a scrolling marquee-style UI would still make sense. Then we can build this without all the other data feeds which are more complex.
- It would be reasonably easy to display other asset prices. But which ones?
- Which stats would be interesting? And do we have that information?

okay so the price of seed in form of graph and numbers has been added to the dashboard page and I'll take this issue if you tell me what things that you have mentioned above should be implemented.
Maybe all of that could be instead implemented in the upcoming seeds page?

Its also visible on the dashboard but I still think the ticker is a good idea. That way it would be following you around, but the motivation for the ticker line is far beyond the price of Seeds, your XP or even things like "community wellbeing".. The idea is to have it ever present for displaying any urgent announcement & most important info, things like in-game tips & calls to action but also act as a Seed sink - where the players & patrons could pay Seeds to write a message & have it displayed to everyone. Kind of like on those old school music shows.

Price of Seeds is the low hanging fruit, maybe the next should be announcements from discord, some highly needed open roles & we could come up with some in-game tips. Announcements from discord could easily be automated and then the most important thing would be to build a UI to allow people to post, which would kind of be needed for all of the above. How it could go vaguely:
- Click on the ticker line & a prompt opens, it asks you:
- Do you want to post a public service announcement, something else, or your own personal message.
- Then the former would require approval by another one or two random online players & your own personal message would ask you for some Seeds.
We can start with the price of Seeds & announcements from the discord server announcements, which are low hanging fruit but also not very impactful as the website is not even being used much anyway - people are probably more likely to read the announcement on discord.
The announcements require #894 which leaves only the price of Seeds, at which point might as well leave it as good-first-issue & not spend your time on it. Unless you're really keen on doing it, here are some other suggestions:
- Seeds page - probably highest impact quest that nobody isn't assigned to anyone yet, though also requires a shitton of effort & a design (edit: looks like its assigned to @vidvidvid but might not be a problem since its a big & hairy issue)
- Quests grouping or finishing - A way to group quests #642 or complete them (right now there's the quest adding & accepting UI, but no way to "complete" them). Both are pretty high impact & ready to be worked on
- Updating the copy on the guild join page #896 - probably higher impact than ticker line (though blocked by the bug in the onboarding bot), but also great good-first-issue (we had a complaint that new people can't find good-first-issues, so maybe its better to leave it open)
