Adding photo attachment from camera crashes Input

Hello!

We're finding that adding a photo from the phone's camera crashes the Android app about half the time. Adding a photo from the gallery does not cause crashing. My assistant and I are both using 2021 Moto G Powers, in case that makes a difference. We have been experiencing the issue over the course of many weeks.

Configuration : Mergin 2.4.1 Android 13 Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro 5G

I test before on phones (android 11,12 and 13) we have no problem.

@lecault If you go to phone settings->permissions, has Mergin Maps Input camera and location permissions granted?

Permissions are good. I take a video. First time it's ok, the photo is enregistred but second time, Mergin crash.

I have a similar issue with a Motorola C82 running Android 13 and Mergin Maps V2.5.0. When I try and add a photo Mergin switches to camera and I take a picture and confirm its OK, Camera then indicates to take another Picture when I OK that I get returned to the Mergin startup screen and the project is loaded and I have to add the item again. Also switching to camera and taking a photo also causes mergin to close.

Another user reports that switching to a camera app on a Getac tablet ZX70G2 causes the app to crash when returning to the Mergin app.

Same thing, Motorola g42, Android 13 API 33 Yo tambien tengo ese problema en un motorola g42 android 13 API 33. I solve (patch) this problem, take first the photo and use gallery to load in margin maps.

Environment: Production Device model/Software version: Motorola G62 / Android 13 Mobile application: 2025.05.0 - android(690711)

Environment: Staging Device model/Software version: Motorola G62 / Android 13 Mobile application: 2025.6.0 - android(700311)

When trying to select a point on the map and take a photo, it is necessary to take the photo twice in the photo mode. The Mergin Maps application crashes immediately after taking the second photo and cannot be used further.
