[Feature Request] Custom Library Groups

Open Narifia opened this issue 10 months ago β€’ 4 comments

First of all, thank you so much for Unicodia! It is hands-down the cleanest and easiest to navigate of all the Unicode applications I've tried. The Library feature is super helpful, and I really appreciate the Favorites tab.

My only problem though... is that I have over 2,500 favorites πŸ˜… That's a lot to scroll through.

I'd really love to be able to organize my favorites. A sort/filter option in the Favorites tab could be helpful, but I'd honestly prefer to just have a way to categorize my favorites based on what I use them for (decoration, bullets, dividers, ASCII art, etc.).

A potentially better option is to have the ability to create custom groups in the Library tab. That way all the glyphs we want to bookmark can be neatly stored away in the Library, and we can use the Favorites tab for our actual favorite / most frequently used glyphs.

Thanks again for the wonderful app, and for taking the time to read my suggestion ❀️

Hugs, it’d be interesting to organize Favourites somehow. IDK how, but I’ll extend Library.

@Narifia Marking with colour (red, yellow, purple etc) like in photo software β€” is it enough? Simple but it’s hard to make >7 colours.

@Mercury13 Sorry for the late response! Marking with colors would be a wonderful addition, and if we could sort / filter them by color, I think that would be perfect πŸ‘Œ

Thank you so much for looking into this 😊 I appreciate the time and effort it must take, and you're doing an amazing job πŸ’–

Colors wouldn't be enough for large collections, is there no way to repeat the Library UI where you can create collapsible groups/subgroups and then each subgroup would have a table of emojis (so not a long list like in a library, but a compact table like currently in the favorites)?

An even better approach would be allowing to add custom tag to each fav (or to multiple selected favs) and then select which tags are active and which are hidden (with a forced "all" tag)
