I'm having the same problem, when i connect the wiitar it just keeps disconnecting it on and on, i tried reinstalling it but it still doesn't work

This is a Steam issue, you need to close it or go into its controller configuration settings and disable Generic Controller Configuration Support (hit the Steam tab at the top, then go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings).

Already disabled and does not help at all. Only solution i've found is closing Steam.

Can confirm. Steam for some reason will prioritize itself over other controller devices.
