Is it possible to somehow make the assistant work in Russian? It is impossible to select the Russian language in the program settings, although the ru.pak file is available.

@DygDyg As per https://developers.google.com/assistant/sdk/reference/rpc/languages, Russian is currently not supported by Google Assistant SDK but you can still use Russian to converse with the assistant. Just make sure that you have added Russian language to the Google Assistant app on your mobile or other device.

I think he meant the Russian translation of the assistant app itself, which I just finished, by the way - #510.

Also, that sdk page is kinda three years old, ya'know. It was last updated at 2018-05-04, and Assistant can speak in Russian since 28 July of 2018, according to Assistant itself. изображение

And how to turn on the Russian language? Is there any instruction? Because it is impossible to choose the Russian language in the application itself, as it is simply not there. Is it necessary to first authenticate the device (get the key file) to select the Russian language? English is not very convenient for me to use, so I did not pass authentication. If important, I installed the application version 1.0.0 on Ubuntu through the .deb package.

I think the SDK doesn't support Russian now, if it does can you open a PR on adding this?

the thing is SDK does support Russian, but that wiki page is older than Russian support so it is not mentioned there

What means: "I think he meant the Russian translation of the assistant app itself, which I just finished, by the way - #510."??? Are you talking about the 13 lines of code you translated and added? If so, this is not exactly a translation of the app.

Although, the official Google Assistant Client does support Russian right away but the gRPC client does have some limitations in such matters. Although, it's not possible to have a direct option for Russian (at least right now), you can still talk to the Assistant in Russian and it will continue the conversation without any hassle. There are already plans to work on multiple languages after the next release but those will only be targeted towards the interface language as for the conversation language it's not officially supported in gRPC.

@Melvin-Abraham posted in #510

That's the problem.
