No Mic Input on Mac Devices
The assistant doesn't even ask for mic permissions. Probably because of that it cant hear me.
@danielspeixoto In my case it did show up on the first start. The dialog might have probably been minimized. If you think you missed it, you can change the microphone settings within the System Preferences.
I think my issue is somewhat relevant, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'm using AirPods Pro's mic but the app cannot catch my voice. If I just use my MacbookPro 15 Mid 2015's build-in mic, it works as expected.
@Melvin-Abraham There is no option on my microphone settings to give it permissions. But I was able to solve it by running "npm start" instead of running a builded version (.app).
@hngdtrng123 Have you changed your app settings to capture audio input from your AirPods Pro? If yes, this is probably non-related to the application itself as it is only an input source.
@danielspeixoto I just left everything as default. When I said:
If I just use my MacbookPro 15 Mid 2015's build-in mic
It means that I disconnect my AirPods, and did not make any further change in settings, in order to use the built-in mic. Edit: FYI, whenever the AirPods connected, MacOS will automatically switch the mic input to it without any user action required.
Please take a look at the gif, you can see the micro icon jumping as I was speaking, but nothing recorded/parsed to the question field.
this fixed the mic permission issue on mac: Fallback
Fallback worked for me too.
this fixed the mic permission issue on mac: Fallback
Worked
After selecting "Restart session with default settings" I was prompted to allow access to the mic, which I granted. After that I went into settings and disabled fallback mode so that my previous settings were restored.
Thanks @tylerssn you solved my issue
