Language is hard-coded as German in index.html, which triggers auto-translate e.g. in Chrome

The only issue this seems to have is that whenever I open the web version on Chrome, it offers to translate from German to English. If I'm not careful and let it translate, it replaces certain (English) strings with similar (English) strings, some of which break app functionality (nothing critical, just display stuff). For example just now I had the autotranslate change certain strings on the page such that I'd see the "dummy" text on the feedback line that should normally be invisible.

I can take a look at this in a week or two.
