[BUG] History naming bug when changing activity type

Open svyatoclav opened this issue 2 months ago • 7 comments

Newest version of app (was in previous too). When in history you click on task to change it type it will change it but the original (previous) name stays the same and it's so confusing lol. In the older version it is also duplicates time on goals but now it isn't.

P.S. Thanks for great app btw! I hope you will fix this xd

Hmm, just checked. Works well.

Which way you have started this? From task list or tapping the goal?

Interesting: I just cleared app data and tried to reproduce it from scratch but it worked fine. Maybe I somehow bugged it in previous version and it persists in new.

In 2025-09-13 version I just clicked history from main screen (like in video), changed task type and it broke, then I installed newest version and it stays the same. I didn't touch task list at all I think. Maybe in newest version everything is already fixed so can't repro for now from clean start. If I manage to break it again I will tell haha

I've made a hude refactoring in the last release 2025-10-11 https://github.com/Medvedev91/timeto.me/pull/147. May be it's really a fixed bug.

Thank you for the bug hunting : ). Please let me know if you encounter this bug or any other bug again.

Hi again! I managed to broke it again... Several times.....

Just look at my screen recordings: one before yesterday's update and one after — nothing changed for me unfortunately.

When I set timer for another activity I hope it split's up but sometimes it causes strange effects like replacing or even deleting activity or shifting it above idk. And I come across this all the time!

Activities are being deleted/replaced, color/naming mismatches and other weird stuff in history. Really dissapointing, I hope you can reproduce it lol. And I think it somehow connected to overdue timer maybe.

@Medvedev91 ok app's behavior getting quite annoying: in the video I tried to make "Free time" from 18:20 to 19:20 and "Exercises" from 19:20 to 22:00 and... I can't... App either deletes "Exercises" or "Free time" at all (and also weird shift other activities), it is so counterintuitive and happens to me A LOT and it obviously needs to be somehow reworked or fixed idk

I hope you can reproduce this haha

This is a great feature for me not a bug. For example, I can choose my task "YouTube" and when finished I can reflect, if I watched educational videos I change the activity to "Education" but the task name "YouTube" remains, if I watched entertainment videos I leave the activity "Entertainment" which I have by default for this task, as it is.

I think the compromise solution would be adding a possibility to rename the tasks from history manually.

Ok I got you! And yes I agree with this.

But my initial problem was with a literally bugged behavior when my actions in history got deleted/replaced/shifted in inconvenient way: just watch my latest video demo...
