[FR] Order for goals on homescreen

Open ConEstArthur opened this issue 11 months ago • 1 comments

I am suggesting tidying up the homescreen of the app to make it look less cluttered. Goals with notes and without notes should be separate (if we are considering goals without notes as parent goals??) or it could be in order by activities where parent goals would on the bottom and other goals on the top.

Labels

I had one more suggestion - happy to open a report for this too. "Important" function at this point seem underutilized; would be helpful to have three flags named as 'Priorities'. They would be Red, Yellow, Blue. It popped up in my mind when I was thinking which kind of sorting order on homescreen would be helpful. After this we can sort tasks on homescreen either by their scheduled time(current), Priorities or Activities. And ofcourse as per my previous feature request there can be an option to sort them by their tags/category as well.

Events

Events also should look different from usual tasks because at this point they might as well be called "scheduled tasks". (Today view is great btw). About events, here's what I had in mind - you can use implementation similar to goals. They would be bars filling on the homescreen (we can use separators to separate the three goals, events, tasks). Here's the difference, you would not need to tap on the event to start it, when the time arrives - it will start itself. Essentially that's what events really are. An option can be added in settings to include event time to your summary or not.

Checklists

If you make slightly longer checklists they ram into tasks and make the ui look very cluttered on homescreen. A fading effect towards the bottom of the checklist might help with that. You could also use 'fold' and 'expand' option to conveniently hide checklist temporarily on homescreen.

That's all what I had in mind. I know I have also crammed a lot of things here while suggesting some sort of "order" on homescreen. 😅 Apologies, also for not opening using 'discussions' option to further expand on things talked about here as I'd be taking my exams in a few days.

As always, the app has been an immense help for me. It really helped me focus for longer periods of time. These are just suggestions and the app is, in its present stage, perfect.

Here's the difference, you would not need to tap on the event to start it, when the time arrives - it will start itself.

I think I would hate that 😅 I can see the appeal but I would then like that to be a setting you can opt into, especially as it's currently impossible to bring back a task once it has been started.
