The Problem:
Friends list can get pretty extensive. Finding players to invite to group based solely on user name and scrolling over the list becomes impractical past a certain point.

Proposal:
When inviting friends to a group, it may be desirable to filter the list to only display players in same faction (either general IS/Clan or specific subfaction) or members of the same unit.
