Just ran into this with a Bushwacker. After switching from Ferro to Light Ferro and attempting to switch back, I discovered that according to the Mechlab I did not have any Ferro armor in my inventory.

Exiting the game and relaunching showed the correct amount (~18K points).

I forgot to take a screenshot when the bug appeared. I'll take one if I reencounter the issue in the future.
