Is there a way to have default as blockUI auto enabled but allow few calls without blockui?

Is there a way to have default as blockuo auto enabled but allow few calls without blockui ,i.e if any background calls we make ,should not be rendered via block ui. As 80% of calls need blockUI and 20% background calls , without making the 80% to manual blockui.
