ConEmu keeps opening to front when last application is closed

Open nofunatall opened this issue 5 years ago • 13 comments

Currently I have ConEmu set to always be in Taskbar Status tray.

However it keeps opening up a window whenever I close all applications on my desktop.

Example: Lets say I have nothing open on my desktop except a single Firefox window and ConEmu running in the background but minimized to tray. If I close my Firefox window a ConEmu window will pop up and I have to close it or minimize it with hotkey.

Further to this if I have no desktop applications open upon opening and closing the windows start menu it will bring down the Guake ConEmu dropdown window

Unsure if there is a setting to disable this but it's incredibly annoying behaviour.

UPDATE: This only appears to happen if ConEmu is set to register itself as the default console.

This bug is driving me crazy for months now.

How to reproduce (prerequisites):

  1. Enable Quake style (main -> Quake Style -> Quake style slide down
  2. Hide in taskbar (Main -> Task bar -> Taskbar buttons -> Don't show ConEmu window on Taskbar

How to reproduce:

  1. Open only one explorer window (so no minimized apps/windows)
  2. Focus this window
  3. Press shortcut to bring ConEmu down
  4. Press it again to hide ConEmu (so the window is now the first focused app and ConEmu is second)
  5. Close window

And at this point, since window was the first focused window and ConEmu was second, ConEmu gets focused since window closes. And it comes down.

But it should only come down, when shortcut is pressed or tray icon is pressed, NOT when window is focused in this manner.

Any way someone could chip in and help fix this, as i am not C++ expert.. :(

To add to this, I was able to replicate the problem in a fresh windows install without enabling quake style slide down or hide in taskbar.

I was, however, using ConEmu with Cmder.

I also have the same problem. I think that some time ago there was some attribute to add in executable shortcut path but can't remember what was it. I am too after fresh install of Windows.

I just updated conemu (https://github.com/Maximus5/ConEmu/tree/v20.06.15) the problem seems to be solved.

You are right, it's not solved for me either, for me it just got very inconsistent, for some reason now it happens randomly
