@brunnre8 It's an improvement, so I'm comfortable half-merging it as long as the ramifications and shortcomings are clear. But that's just my opinion, it might make more sense to hold-off....

1. is impossible, as it's generated from the config comments. I recommend going with 3.

On one hand, I don't like it and would love to remove it. On the other, I think it lowers the barrier of entry for new contributors who may be...

I'd add lets include a mention of the hook:install script in the README or CONTRIBUTING but beside that 👍
