Icons not displaying on TODO or agenda

On the sidebar, this shows up:

I assume this is because I am using gnome on linux, as the agenda icon works, but looks different from all the other pictures I've seen. If I change either the UI theme or the Syntax theme this fixes itself, including the agenda icons going back to what others' looks like. When I start atom the icons won't load, and this happens every time I close and reopen the editor.

I think these are ligatures or utf8 characters, but I haven't figured out a way to make this plugin use a proper font that supports these (https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts).

Could be also an Atom setting, to use such a font, but again I haven't figured out how to make Atom use such a font for these panels (the editor font doesn't affect this).
