Protontricks tries to access directory that doesn't exist

Open CaptCole opened this issue 7 months ago • 1 comments

Protontricks does not appear to have access to the following directories: /media/admin1/Old C Drive/SteamLibrary

That directory has never existed. Steam and linux aren't on Old C Drive. I've tried multiple versions of protontricks and they all have this problem.

To Reproduce open proton tricks select seapower

Expected behavior It should be looking in admin1/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps

System (please complete the following information):

  • Distro:Linux Mint 21.3 (64 bit)
  • Protontricks installation method: I've tried community package, Flatpak, and pipx.
  • Protontricks version: 1.12.1
  • Steam version: no beta

Additional context https://docs.bepinex.dev/articles/advanced/proton_wine.html Currently I have the flatpak installed. After clicking skip warning I can't see the error again and there's no option to change the directory.

Protontricks reads the libraryfolders.vdf located in <steam_dir>/steamapps/libraryfolders.vdf. It could be that the Steam client has left an old path there for some reason, or that Protontricks is detecting the wrong Steam installation altogether.

You could try running protontricks -vv --gui to see the path to Steam installation that Protontricks is using; this should be printed in the logs. You could then check the steamapps/libraryfolders.vdf file and check if it looks correct other than for the extra library folder.
