Support for entry listing URL query parameters

As of v1.0.0, "5.3.1. Entry Listing URL Query Parameters" says:

The client MAY provide a set of URL query parameters in order to alter the response and provide usage information. While these URL query parameters are OPTIONAL for clients, API implementations MUST accept and handle them.

This sounds as if API implementations are REQUIRED to support all query parameters given in Section 5.3.1, whilst some of the parameters are later mentioned as OPTIONAL (on the server side). AFAIR, the intention was to minimize the set of mandatory query parameters in this section, but the last sentence in my quote casts some doubt. Should it be revised?
