DASH playback issues

Describe the bug When DASH is enabled, often when a video is turned on, page reloads or quality changes, playback does not start/continue. This is independent of the instance or device as well as the connection, the problem just randomly appears.

At the same time, DASH playback works fine on Invidious itself

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Turn on DASH
  2. Visit any video
  3. Try reloading the page, switching to another video or changing the quality (1 step is enough)
  4. At one point, the video will stop playing

Expected behavior Playback continues as usual

  • OS: any (tested on Windows 11, Fedora 40 and Arch btw)
  • Browser Chrome 128.0.6613.84 (Official Build) (64-bit) (cohort: M128 Rollout)
  • Version 1.1.7

This has been long standing issue I've had with vidstack (Materialious' player), I originally open a issue on their discord server without much feedback. I have also open a issue and followed up on it (just now) on vidstack GH what can be tracked here

Would it be better to create the new issue in the vidstack repo? It's been a long time since the issue closed

These issues should be resolve as we have moved away from vidstack to shaka player
