Tidal HiFi Flatpak login page not working

Open PeterRD26 opened this issue 3 months ago • 14 comments

Hi, using Mint 22 Wilma, today (17 Sep 2025) I couldn't login to my Tidal HiFi. I re-installed using the provided Flatpak and that didn't fix the issue. I then re-installed using a downloaded debian package and that resolved the issue. In the Flatpak install on selecting login the page goes white and nothing is displayed. On the Debian package on selecting login the verification page launches and then the login screen appears. So really just reporting the issue and not requiring a fix for myself.

Also the same problem but using the AppImage, tried with versions 5.20.1, 5.19.0 and 5.18.0... I would say that Tidal changed something in the the login api? 🤔

Well not sure if there was some change again, but after I login in this browser I have tried once more the app, and it worked ;-) I could login

Fedora 42 Flatpak: Same issue. Login/Create Account is just a white screen, reload and forced reload doesn't fix. In Firefox I noticed there's a "Checking device" step before the login loads and I can sign in. The Flatpak app still isn't working after browser login. :/

Linux 6.16.7-200.fc42.x86_64, NVIDIA-SMI 580.82.07 Note: App was previously working without issue but I had to reinstall and now experiencing the white screen issue.

EDIT: Seems to be working now. After listening in my browser for a few hours and not closing it I ran the Flatpak and was able to log in. Could be entirely coincidental but keep trying folks. It may eventually work!

We've had some issues with this in the past, seems to come and go 🤷🏻

Zorin OS 18 beta, installed Tidal from the Software app and I'm getting the same white login page issue.

I don’t know if this helps, but I was using the AUR version and was having the same issue. In my case, I had installed Tidal Luna (mod), which was causing it. I just removed it and was able to log in.

Has anyone found a workaround for this issue that didn't install a 3rd party mod? I just installed from the Pop shop (5.20.1 - no mods) and can't log in due to white screen. I'm assuming this is equivalent to the .deb release?

The only thing you can usually do is:

  • Remove any config files (usually in ~/.config/tidal-hifi)
  • Login to the website (idk why, but seems to fix it at times)
  • run with --no-sandbox option to login (this is a common fix for last.fm)

same issue on CachyOS with COSMIC desktop, the login screen is just a blank white page, above mentioned workaround works though

Linux Mint Cinnamon using Flatpak same problem with login screen (and create free account option) - menu bar only displayed.

Enabling beta in the Tidal client settings worked for me.

In one case starting via flatpak --no-sandbox did the trick, afterwards it works with --no-sandbox omitted In another device I'm not sure what did the trick but it worked after a few tries.
