AppImage doesn't run on Ubuntu 24.04

Running Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS (Kernel 6.8.0-48-generic; X not Wayland.) I am getting frustrated with Snap so when I decided to upgrade from 5.7 to 5.17 I decided to switch to the appimage.

When I run the 5.17 appimage (chmod +x then run) I get:

I notice someone had a similar error message in 2023, on a bug now marked fix:

In that situation, a workaround was to run with --no-sandbox. But I think I want to run with as many sandboxes as possible so I did not try this.

This is from my perspective MINOR because on the same system I was able to install the Snap 5.17 release without problems and so tidal-hifi is working on my machine. But FYI.
