dualshock 4 no input when a button is pressed

I tried to register my dualshock 4 controller on the hid to vpad app and when i try to map the controller it asks me to press any button which i do but dosent seem to work. i have all the right files and the controller im using is a new working ds4 controller. Any help would be appreciated.

Are sure it's the "old" Dualshock 4? Only the old ones are working directly via USB. For new models you need to use the network client
