DS4 & DS3: No Rumble?

I'm not sure if I'm crazy or if there is actually a problem. Using either controller plugged directly into the console provides no rumble. Is there something I missed when I set up the app, or is there no support for this when plugged directly into the console?

The rumble motor in the controllers work just fine connected to the original console, and I get rumble activity if connected via. network.

The DS3 should support rumble. I could never test it myself though (I only have DS4 Controller). DS4 is not support (yet)

my DS3 supports rumble on latest nightly, but not my DS4

The DS4 has no rumble support implement in hid to vpad
