Volume Accessory as something other than Light Bulb

Open fcmarriott opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hello - got this working, and it's great. I have one switch (designated as a TV switch) for the Amp power and Input and I have a second switch to control the volume. I ran into an issue last night where I asked Siri to "set all lights in living room to 80%" - and it turned the volume of the amp up to 80% also!! Is there any way to change that switch to be something else so doesn't set the volume at the same rate as the lights?

Cheers. -bill

I did see your comment :

"controlType" can be used to change the volume control from a bulb to a fan or a speaker. This can be handy if you don't want to mute your receiver when you say to Siri "Turn on all lights". The speaker type is not yet supported in the Home app, but it is supported in 3rd party home applications like Home+.

I have switched to using the Fan "controlType", so that helps - thanks for that. Any ideas if / when a speaker control type would be available?
