HomeAssistant or alternative?

I have a MacBook Air and a Android mobile. All I want is to be able to see my devices on a map on my mobile. Is HomeAssistant the way to go, or is there a easier alternative? I have never used HomeAssistant.

Home Assistant is way overkill for what you want to do, and would take hours of configuration to do it. I'm sure there is an easier way. Probably an app that is on both android and Mac.
