Search doesn't include approximate terms

From what I understand fuzzy search is meant capture terms that could be misspelled or terms that are determined to be close enough to the original query. From initial testing this program seems to pattern match queries.

Am I understanding the purpose of this utility incorrectly or is the search meant to include approximate terms?
