Space between user avatars

Hi!

Thanks for Chili, which I have just discovered and already love.

I especially love the simple and neat layout inherited from Breeze and the possibility to easily customize it.

However, I think there is an issue (or is it a feature that I would like while others wouldn't?): I would really like to increase my avatar's size because there is text in it. My SDDM displays all the existing users' avatars side-by-side above the password field (and I like it like that). But when I increase the size of the avatars in Chili conf file, the space between the centers of avatar images is not increased, leading to overlapping avatars.

Possible solutions could be:

  • a new setting for the user to choose the space between avatars;
  • calculating the space between avatars according to their size; or
  • keeping a fixed distance between avatars but applying it between borders of the images rather than between their centre.

Thank you for your attention.

Cheers!

This is indeed a sort of unwanted behavior. I wouldn't call it a bug, but I actually know of the issue. Usually people will not raise the size to a value big enough to make it happen so I haven't had any complaints yet ;s But I agree it should be accounted for accordingly. I will look into it.

~~speaking of razing size, i'd like to fork this to make one where the user image is bigger on the screen, like 2x size. how do i do that? i've got no experience with qml and sddm themes building yet~~

nvm, i should've just read the markdown. so now the question becomes: where is the theme stored in linux? so i can edit the config file

update: found it /usr/share/sddm/themes/
