Can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

I couldn't launch the installer due to this alert: "can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"

I had to go right-click open, then I could ignore the alert and open anyway.

I'm using Mac OS Catalina.

Beginning in macOS 10.15, all software built after June 1, 2019, and distributed with Developer ID must be notarized.
